day 261: medical schools — a draft prospective

Today I became really awfully excited for medical school. 2015 fast approaches, and with it those small milestones of a 40 on the MCAT, admission with a full ride to a university close to where A can easily find a job he likes, and a year full of getting ready for eight-to-ten more which will lead to a career of awesomeness.

You can borrow my rose-colored lens whenever you want ;)

Then I read articles like this. The awfulness of it all.

Some facts I found today: University of Texas Medical School System has in-state tuitions of $13,000 to $19,000 per year. State schools in Virginia have in-state tuitions of $43,000 to $46,000 per year.

Anyway, my TMJ specialist advised me to nix the physician route because socialized medicine will have them all in their coffins before they can think about filling their coffers. What about the MD/OMS degree? A way to do both? Requirements for dental schools will be researched in the coming days.

In any case, I must shut this down for now (for my computer is going to shut itself off in two minutes.) To be continued…
